Decision Making Authority and Resident-Family Conflict
Assisted living providers must be prepared should a family conflict occur concerning a resident. Presenters will discuss legal scenarios, the hierarchy of decision makers and related legal documents, decision making authority, the impact on higher acuity residents, protecting the resident, government investigations, visitation rights, related public relations issues, and when and why state agencies and ombudsmen should become involved. Participants will learn how to better understand these issues through examples.
